The largest and deepest body of fresh water in Boston, surrounded by concrete paths as well as green space. Perfect Place for a picnic or playing fetch with the dog. It's also home to the annual Lantern Parade, which takes place in October and is a standard tradition amongst local residents.
Owned and maintained by Harvard University, the Arboretum is a 265-acre world-renowned plant collection that contains Peters' Hill, the highest elevation point in Jamaica Plain at 235 feet. The Arboretum is a great place to take in the outdoors with friends or family or simply to enjoy green space and solitude within the city.

With a similar spirit, Jim Koch helped start the Craft beer revolution when he first brewed Boston Lager over 30 years ago - a revolution that is going strong to this day with close to 5,000 independent Craft brewers nationwide.

Every Thursday June 1 through October 1, we welcome friends and neighbors to the garden and grounds to gather, eat, and socialize during our beautiful New England summer evenings. Donations are greatly appreciated.
